Hi Lucy Autumn is a great time as they will establish over winter and in the Spring / early summer you will have the most amazing flowers for the bees Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Elizabeth
on January 28th, 2020
I am in the process of developing a wild flower / orchard at the back of my site. I am planting a grass suitable for leaving wild (to be strimmed couple of times only). Would the 'Bee Friendly' plants be suitable for planting around the edges / corners - not in a formal bed? My soil is clay based though landscaper will prepare it for sowing and planting for me Any specific plants you'd recommend within the bee friendly sets?

Hi Elizabeth Having your gardener prepare the ground around the edges is a great idea and your soil seems fine. Don't have him add anything to it as Wildflowers like poorer soil so a gentle till and spread the seeds is enough. All of the varieties will work equally well so there is no point in me giving a recommendation as it is really what works best for you visually Regards Niall Quickcrop
