In a nutshell....
A highly nutritious compost made by earthworms. 'Wormcast' compost is a perfectly balanced slow release feed and produces incredible root growth so is particularly good for starting off new vegetable seedlings.
Living Green worm castings compost suits a broad range of applications but is particularly well suited to bringing on young plants. Plants grown in worm castings build a more extensive root system making them stronger and healthier and better able to withstand attack from pests and diseases. Root growth really is phenomenal which also means your plants will cope with drought far better than plants with less extensive root systems.
This compost is perfect across the board and is suitable for seed germination, root development, plant growth as well as being a great compost for vegetables such as tomatoes, broccoli, courgette and countless others. Compost enriched by worms is rocket fuel for plants and Living Green came to the market in 2013 to the delight of organic growers everywhere, here's a little history about the compost:
Living Green organic compost is created on a commercial worm farm in Innishowen Co.Donegal. A whopping 17,000kg of worms convert their peat based bedding material, potato scraps and a high protein organic feed into this rich compost. As the worms digest and process their bedding material their digestive tract coats the materials particles in enzymes that allow the plants to absorb nutrients from the compost easier resulting in vigorous root growth and ultimately stronger and healthier plants.
Approved across the board in a number of trials by the Northern Ireland department of agriculture this compost has since gone on to be certified by the Organic Trust allowing its use in organic production with the compost approved in 2013.

Living Green For Growing Wheatgrass
Once wheatgrass seeds have sprouted, they need to be transferred to a tray of moist compost to grow on. Living Green is the ideal compost to use for young wheatgrass shoots. Simply fill your tray with a 1cm deep layer of this compost and spread the sprouted wheat seeds across the surface.
N.B. Part of the worm's bedding material is peat based so 'Living Green' is not a completely peat free product.
