Grow Your Own Plum Trees
This is another self-fertile plum tree. It is a most reliable variety in less than perfect areas as its frost resistance is high. Fruit darkens as they grow, going from a blue colour to black with sweet yellow/green flesh, the darker they are the sweeter they will be. Czar plums can be picked early for cooking with, or left to ripen properly and eaten fresh. Height 12-15 ft (unpruned) on St.Julien 'A' Roostock.
