Rugged, powerful, and built to last a lifetime

The Sheen X300 is an amazing piece of kit. As a commercial beekeeper with 340 hives, I was looking for a professional-grade, chemical-free way to manage the land. This has been a game-changer around the farm. It keeps the driveway and the yard completely weed-free without any hassle and with no need for sprays. Aside from land maintenance, it is also fantastic for sterilising hive equipment. It provides a really deep, effective heat that gives me total peace of mind regarding hygiene and disease control in the apiary. It is rugged, powerful, and feels like it will last a lifetime. Excellent service from Andrew and the team at Quickcrop as always. If you are looking for a serious, organic-friendly solution for farm and apiary maintenance, this is it.

    Pyromaniac's Dream

This piece of kit surely is fun to work with. It is like owning your own jet engine and roaring around the garden with it... Does it kill weeds: it sure does. Is it the answer to all things weed related: maybe not - the jury is still out.. After battling with weeds in our gravel driveway for a long time - trying everything except chemical weed killers - we debated for a long time if this expensive tool might be the answer to our troubles. The very helpful youtube video on Quickcrop's channel and also very helpful feedback from the sales team eventually convinced us to lash out on this burner. We did as described in the manual: a quick initial sweep - even a bit more thorough than described - followed by a second burn 3 days later. The weeds wilted quickly and it looks promising, yellowing after one or two days and ready to be burned off. Most of the lightly weed covered areas burned off nicely, but the more overgrown bits needed a bit more convincing. Eventually most burned away nicely leaving us with some black patches that will wash off in the rain. However: did it work and kill all the weeds? Not really, it did do a better job than the small gas burner we had before, an awful lot better. But still didn't kill all the weeds. I noticed certain weeds - grass and buttercups mainly - already showing young growth the day after the second burn. As these are probably the more hardy weeds they might need another burn to kill them off. Not sure though, we'll try in a few days. The other downside is the fuel consumption: The manual instructs you to fill the fuel tank with about 3 litres of kerosine. This will allow for about 30 minutes of burn time - not bad considering it feels like you are holding a jet engine, but still a lot less fuel efficient than I was expecting. Not necessarily a bad thing, but still good to know - especially with the price of heating oil at the moment. All things considered I think this is an excellent tool, well made and will probably last a lifetime or more. A lot cheaper in the long run than bags of salt, vinegar or chemical weed killers and a lot easier than hoeing gravel for sure. We'll just have to wait and see how often I need to go out and run around the garden with a flamethrower (it's a good thing our nearest neighbours live a couple of 100 meters away..)

    Sheen X300

I was looking for a weed burner and did not really want to buy one that used gas, so I was pleased to find this machine. It's top quality and robust and once you follow the instructions it is simple to get going. Deals with the weeds in no time too

    Sheen flame gun

I was looking for an alternative to chemicals for spraying a drive in spring summer. This has been very easy to use so far. Watch videos closely although the quickcrop one is the best one. It has worked on small weeds well. In areas of thicker growth you need to cut down brush / growth before using. I ultimately bought this to bring a rampant bramble issue under control in my wood land and I believe it will do the job well. Timing is important. Obviously be careful if it’s a dry spell and follow the recommendation of staged use. Trust the process.
