Soil Warming Cable Thermostat - Biogreen

In a nutshell....

This thermostat is for use with our soil warming cables. It can help you keep your raised bed or heated propagation bench at the ideal temperature.

Keep Your Soil At The Perfect Temperature For Growing

Parasene replaced with the Bio-Green Range. We were having issues with the Parasene Thermostats letting in water. The Bio-Green units are far far better for the same money.

This digital thermostat is ideal for use in conjunction with our soil warming cables. Perfect for seed propagation, it enables you to keep your raised beds at the ideal temperature. It is also great for getting an earlier start in the year or for quick frost protection, if temperatures dip suddenly and unexpectedly you can use this thermostat to regulate the temperature of the soil through the soil warming cable.

Why use a thermostat?

  • It will save on your electricity bill.
  • You can set your seed bed at the optimum temp, your warming cable will only come on when it's needed.
  • You can set your warming cable for different temperatures depending on the seed you are germinating.
  • Great standby frost protection if your greenhouse or tunnel gets too cold early in the year.

The Biogreen thermostat is the perfect accessory for building your own Propagation Heat Bench.

The thermostat works well with the cable but there are 2 degrees in difference with my soil thermometer so I adjust it between the 2.

Make sure your warming bench is built close to a socket if you don't want to use an extension as the lead is quite short and there is no option to hard wire a cable on this model (unlike the video tutorial model). It also comes with a European 2 pin plug, so be prepared to change it. Once installed its very easy to set up, just turn on and set desired temp with up/down buttons. The temp sensor has an ample cable. On the whole a very nice unit but maybe a little pricey.

From the images, this looks like it is for the German/French market. The plug is 2 Pin and the built in socket also looks like it is for 2 pin plug. Can you confirm the one I would receive is for the Irish market?

Could you tell me whereabouts does the thermostat cable and probe go? Is it in the sand or on top of the sand? Thanks

Hi Sarah Of course. If you are growing in trays put it directly in to the compost of one of the trays. It is the temperature of the compost that is all important Niall Quickcrop
