Description
Rootstock: 40-60cm
Snowberry (Symphoricarpos x chenaultii 'Hancock') is a low-growing deciduous shrub with a dense, thicket-forming habit. This hardy plant features arching, rooting branches that produce small, bluish-green and oval-shaped leaves. Its ground-covering spread helps to suppress weeds.
Snowberry 'Hancock' produces clusters of delicate, bell-shaped pink or white flowers in late summer; these are very attractive to pollinators. Later in the year, eye-catching white berries that are speckled with red can persist well into winter, all adding up to sustained year-round seasonal interest.
Reaching a height of 1.5 to 2.5 meters over 5-10 years, Symphoricarpos is easy to grow in most moist, fertile soils and is adaptable to various environmental conditions. It's particularly suited for use in mixed shrub borders, hedging, or as ground cover, thriving even in full shade.
