Description
Freshly grown basil 8-10 weeks old from our nursery. Grows bushy when maintained properly and produces aromatic green leaves.
Basil is a culinary herb used in Italian cooking and in pesto. It not only tastes well paired with tomatoes, it grows well with tomatoes.
Pinching the tops will encourage growth and cutting above a leaf node will split stems doubling branches. If allowed to flower the leaves will lose flavour and growth will slow/stop so remove as soon as you see it. Never remove more than 1/3 of the plant at once as it may cause shock to the plant.
This plant comes in a P9 pot and is ready to plant out. P9 pots are 9cm in diameter and are commonly used by professional horticulturists.
