Description
Bay is a herb plant freshly grown in our nursery and comes well established. The plant grows as a large shrub and the leaves are leathery, glossy and dark green in colour. It also produces a yellow-green flower with black berries from female plants.
Bay leaves are widely used in cooking, especially in stews, soups and sauces. The leaves add flavour to dishes but are not to be eaten themselves and are often removed before serving.
Bay shrubs are drought tolerant when established and prefer mild winters so may not survive in harsh frosts.
This plant comes in a P9 pot and is ready to plant out. P9 pots are 9cm in diameter and are commonly used by professional horticulturists.
It can also be purchased as part of our 'choose your own' herb products at a reduced price (see recommended products below).
