Description
Dahlia Decorative ‘Vancouver’ is an eye-catching, dramatic variety that will surely capture attention with its large, fully double pink-violet flowers, delicately adorned with white tips. These stunning blossoms look perfect in a vase or as a single stem centrepiece, and they also add a striking presence when planted in groups towards the back of a summer border.
This Dahlia reaches a height of 90 cm, and for optimal growth, it should be planted in fertile, well-drained soil between March and June, about 15 cm deep and 60 cm apart. The plant thrives in a sunny location to maximize flowering and impact. Water well after planting and aim for a weekly soak at the base of the plant during the summer months.
Due to its height, this variety may require staking for support throughout the flowering season. For larger blooms, use an all-purpose plant feed. To encourage continuous blooming until the first frosts, deadhead regularly. In autumn, cut back the plant near ground level, and lift and store the tuber for the winter.
