Description
This large tuberous perennial features fully double, fiery orange petals with a golden centre. It can be planted at any time after the last frost. It grows to a height of up to 90cm. Flowers bloom in July and will last until the first frosts. This plant requires full sun in a sheltered (from wind) location with moist and well draining soil.
Cut Flowers
This makes for a great late cut flower. Harvest when fully open. It is best to harvest in early morning or in the evening and place stems into warm water (20°C) immediately. Change water every 2 days minimum.
Over Wintering
- Tubers can be dug up after the first frosts and kept for the following year.
- Dry out for 1-2 days
- Store in vermiculite or sawdust at 4-10°C
- Avoid excess moisture or cold
