Description
Dryopteris wallichiana provides shade and shelter for insects in summer, evergreen in mild areas it also offers important winter habitats under it's leaves and in it's leaf litter.
This is a semi-evergreen fern, forming an upright clump of triangular green fronds, it will grow large is in an ideal position. The stems are black and provide interest against the green fronds. Particularly useful as a specimen fern in the shade garden. Partners well with Hosta and other moisture loving plants. Deciduous, remove old foliage in spring.
