Please see the table below for current availability, Items marked in red are not currently available. Please note lead times as detailed below apply to all orders.
Please be aware that there is currently a 12 week lead time on all glasshouses due to high demand. This will be the same for any Vitavia greenhouse suppluer in Ireland.
The larger 5200, 6800 and 7800 Ida models are available only in anodised aluminium finish and with horticultiural glass and polycarbonate roof. The smaller 900, 1300 and 3300 models are available in both aluminium and green finishes as either horticultural or toughened glass and polycarbonate roof.
The Ida Wall Greenhouses are perfect for gardeners who have limited space available.
Designed for use on balconies, patios or walled gardens, these models are ideal for plants, seedlings and tomatoes. Each of the three models has one roof vent and a high ridge to ensure easy access. The Ida 900 and 1300 both have a single smooth action sliding door, whereas the Ida 3300 has front mounted double doors for increased access. Prefabricated steel bases are available as an optional extra, as is a shelf set for the Ida 900 and 1300 which, comprising two shelves, substantially increases the growing area.
The complete Vitavia range is available in both Powder Coated Green or *Anodised Aluminium (*Anodisation is a process the aluminum goes through to keep it looking prestine throughout its life).
Does the Ida greenhouse need a base?
Yes, we recommend using a base for all greenhouses because the sliding door runner needs to be slightly raised off the ground. We supply a base kit for the Ida range which you will see in the 'related products' link at the bottom of the page. A DIY base can also be constructed using pressure treated timber battens, railway sleepers or masonry. The only Vitavia Greenhouses that do not require a base are the 'Apollo' and the 'Phoenix' models.Assembly Service. We provide an assembly service if required. Our Vitavia greenhouse expert will deliver and assemble your new greenhouse in a suitable location in your garden. Assembly prices may vary depending on the site but typical rates for Ida greenhouses are as follows: 4ft x 2ft = €100, 6ft x 2ft = €100.00, 8ft x 4ft = €200.00, 8ft x 6ft = €260.00, 10ft x 6ft = €280.00, 12ft x 6ft = €300.00. Please conatct firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
We regret that our assembly service covers Rep. of Ireland only.
Horticultural or toughened glass?
The difference between horticultural or toughened glass is weight and how the materail handles when shattered.
Horticultural glass or greenhouse glass has traditionally been relatively low grade both in thickness and the overall quality of the panes. This does not make it a bad product because we don't necessarily need high quality glass for horticultural applications, it still provides protection and lets in plenty of light which, after all, is all we need it for. The downside from a safety point of view is that it is more brittle and shatters into shards when broken. In my opinion, horticultural glass is perfectly fine for a reasonably shetlered glasshouse in a suburban setting but should not be used in exposed areas or where young children are regularly playing.
Toughened or safety glass is more costly than horticultural grade but is 10 times stronger and, when broken, shatters into very small pieces in the same manner as a car window. We would recommend that toughened glass is used in any exposed location and where safety is a concern.
