Description
This is a well established herb plant, grown by us in our nursery and is well established.
Sorrel (Rumex) is a perennial herb plant that produces fresh arrow shaped green leaves, similar to dock leaves. During the summer it produces reddish-pink flowers. Its roots grow deep and the plant can grow up to 60cm tall.
This herb is very attractive to pests, especially slugs and snails so slug traps are advised. It also can attract aphids and moths/butterflies so mesh protection is best.
The leaves are high in vitamin C and have a lemony taste. Used in cooking especially in soups, stews and salads. It also goes well with spinach and fish dishes. It's acidity can even dissolve small fish bones!
This plant comes in a P9 pot and is ready to plant out. P9 pots are 9cm in diameter and are commonly used by professional horticulturists.
It can also be purchased as part of our 'choose your own' herb products at a reduced price (see recommended products below).
