Description
Tulip 'Artist' is the first viridiflora tulip type to be awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit with short, sturdy stems and interesting orange and green colouring. This variety is very good paired with other colours, particularly purple where its subtlety balances stronger hues and makes a very harmonious arrangement. Heads are mix of smoked salmon, rose and purple flushed with green; as they mature, they take on more dusky tones giving an attractive vintage look in cut flower arrangements.
Tulip 'Artist' is very long flowering and will last for weeks in the garden, its stocky stems also means it is unperturbed by harsh weather making it a valuable addition to any garden.
