The great thing about the dawn of the patio planter, or indeed the balcony box, is that it really opens up vegetable growing to almost everyone – which makes it a really valuable social tool. Depth is important for carrots as they can grow quite long so need deep unrestricted soil, because if carrots meet any obstruction even a stone, this will cause the carrots to grow mishapen and hard to peel and cut up when at cooking time. So this fold away patio planter is deep enough for carrots and most other root vegetables.
Because you are growing in containers, these patio planters allow you to adjust the soil type to suit the vegetables you want to grow which is very hard to do in a normal garden. Whatever soil type you need these patio planters will contain the soil and keep your vegetables growing neat, clean and tidy.
Personally I find homegrown carrots far more flavoursome than their supermarket alternative and these carrot patio planters makes it so easy! My daughter Leah would eat raw carrots all day long and is harder to keep out than the dreaded carrot fly! An odd thing is homegrown carrots don't seem to keep as long and are best used straight from the ground. Why do supermarket carrots keep for so long?

Important Delivery Information Spring 2021 - Covid 19
We will be operating our business as usual over the coming months as thankfully, current lockdown measures haven't required us to close our warehouses. Delivery times had been impacted earlier in the year with the increase in online shopping putting immense strain on couriers. We are nearly back to normal here in Quickcrop so we expect to have your order to you within 7-10 working days.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused due to Covid-19 and very much appreciate your patience during this time. Some of our customers had delays in receiving their orders in a timely manner but thankfully 99% of orders got through on schedule.
Unless 10 working days have elapsed since you placed your order please try to avoid contacting the office for delivery information as answering queries further slows packing. The Exception to this is our raised ponds which will take two weeks to be dispatched from our warehouse and and delivered to you. Of course if you have received a damaged item, are missing something or are over the 10 day lead time please feel free to email us at enquiry@quickcrop.ie and we will respond quickly, usually within the hour.
Standard delivery €3.95 - Our standard delivery rate is €3.95 and covers all goods except raised beds and some selected heavy items. €3.95 is the total delivery price irrespective of the number of items ordered.
Allotment raised beds €5.95 - Allotment style raised beds carry a delivery of €5.95 per complete order. €5.95 is the total delivery price irrespective of the number of allotment raised beds or additional items ordered.
Premier/Deluxe raised beds €9.95 - Premier or Deluxe raised beds carry a delivery of €9.95 per complete order. €9.95 is the total delivery price irrespective of the number of raised beds or additional items ordered.
Bulky Items €9.95 - Some large items (e.g. compost bins) carry a delivery charge of €9.95. Any items that carry the large item surcharge will be clearly marked on the product page.

How long does it take?
Stock permitting we aim to dispatch your goods within 2 working days of receiving your order. The average time taken from order to delivery is 4 - 5 days for Irish and UK orders, and up to 8 working days for other European destinations.
What If I'm not in at time of delivery?
The driver will leave a note with the depot contact number. Delivery can be arranged for the next day or a later date.
I'm ordering several items, do they all arrive at the same time?
All items dispatched at the same time will normally be delivered in one delivery. The exceptions are bulk bags of soil or compost which comes in a separate delivery using a different delivery company.
What if my parcel is damaged or I wish to return the goods I have ordered?
Contact our office on 01 524 0884 and we will arrange collection and refund or replacement of faulty or damaged goods.
If you wish to return goods for any reason other than damaged or faulty items please return the item to us at the following address and we will issue a refund minus the delivery charge. Goods must be undamaged and in their original packaging. Please take care when parceling returned goods to ensure it reaches us in good condition.
