Like most sedums 'Herbstfreude' is a very valuable late source of nectar for pollinators, particularly butterflies. Dead flowers also provide shelter and habitat in the winter months before they are cut back in Spring.
This plant is a strong dependable addition, it has a long season of interest, starting with its bright green succulent foliage then opening to cluster flower heads which turn a dark dusty pink and are long lasting well into autumn.
