Description
This sedge is an evergreen, ground-covering grass that spreads like a carpet. It is particularly well suited for mass plantings. It spreads by runners relatively fast and very dense, so weeds hardly have a chance. The variety 'Irish Green' (Carex morrowii ssp. foliosissima 'Irish Green') has soft, overhanging, evergreen foliage that is deep dark green. From April to May, the typical brownish spikes form. This adaptable sedge can be used in shady, large plantings together with woody plants.
