Vegtrug Planters

Vegtrugs are planters designed for easy vegetable growing and maintenance. They provide easy, waist-high access to your plants and have become a staple of the vegetable garden. Vegtrugs can be placed on any surface, from outdoors on patios, porches and balconies, to indoors in greenhouses, polytunnels or even in the house. The Vegtrug has many advantages over regular raised beds: it is a good deal taller and stands at a comfortable waist height. They minimise the need for bending or crouching and are ideal for those with back problems, they are also wheelchair accessible. The extra height also helps protect vulnerable vegetable seedlings from slugs & snails, low flying pests like the carrot fly and fouling by household pets. The main body of the trug completely contains all the soil so you have more control over it. You can even grow deeper rooted crops like parsnips, carrots and potatoes along the centre of the bed thanks to it's clever 'v' shape design. The timber used is sustainably sourced fir and is treated with vegetable-friendly stain to prevent rot. A membrane liner also comes with the trug to offer a little extra protection.

VegTrug planters have been designed to be easily built from the box and come in both 1m and 1.8m long versions to suit any garden needs. They are delivered in one boxed flatpack kit and take about 15 to 20 minutes to assemble; detailed instructions and all required fixings are included in the box. Purpose built polycover, micromesh and fleece covers are available with frames to get the most out of your vegtrug. They help dramatically lengthen the growing season as well as offering reliable protection from pests, weather and disease. Wooden Vegtrugs are available in natural timber or grey wash colours and once assembled, will easily fit in with any garden design type.

Vegtub

Vegtubs are steel, modular raised bed kits made by Vegtrug. They are made from corrugated steel with a double sided powder coating. Growing in the Vegtub will keep slugs away and reduce weed problems. The open-bottomed design allows plant roots to reach further into the ground, which leads to healthier roots. Metal raised beds are growing in popularity all the time. It's a durable material which won't need much upkeep. The Vegtub is suitable for no dig gardening. No tools are required for assembly. Choose from two colours, Sage and Charcoal.
