Very pleases with the Mypex fabric received recently. It is water permeable unlike fabric I previously bought. It is therefore just right for laying under a gravel path in order to prevent weed growth but let excess water seep down below the gravel. It is easy to cut with a Stanley knife or scissors. If it succeeds in this it will be five star. I think it will achieve this rating.

How do I stop the cut ends fraying?

Hi Robin This type of Mypex once cut along the coloured blue lines won't fray. But if you have ends that are fraying. Burning them very lightly with a flame torch is the best way to stop fraying Niall Quickcrop

Is this product definitely water permeable? I bought a similar product and testing it, water remained pooled atop for days afterwards so I had to punch many holes in it which rather undoes the point! Thanks.

Hi Johnny In short yes. The weave on any of the Mypex fabric is tight so it can take time for the water to pass through but they do allow the water through fine Niall Quickcrop

If I cover my vegetable patch with farmyard manure in late autumn could I cover it with Mypex over winter and would there be any benefit to so doing.

Hi Pat This is actually what i do when preparing a new area. It allows the water get through to the manure and still creates enough heat for the manure to break down over winter while stopping the light getting in. This makes sure no weeds grow in the Spring so the ideal solution Niall Quickcrop

I have a 2 x 1.5m raised bed and intend to grow strawberries in it. Can I plant them through this and what size would I need? Thank you Alan
Answered by Andrew

Hi Alan You could use mypex and cut it. Alternatively you could use one of our pre punched mats instead as the holes are heat sealed so won't fray. I include a link for your convenience. Andrew

Hi John. You could stitch it but it may unravel when cut. We have another product which is more like fabric which I think would be more suitable. I include the link: https://www.quickcrop.co.uk/product/botanico-weed-control-fabric-twin-pack
