Vitopod 90cm Light and Support Kit for Propagator

Overall I’m very disappointed with this product. The lights are not as shown in the pictures and when I asked Quickcrop about this they said the pictures showed the old model which was no longer produced, the new model which I received, is like a knock off imitation. I’ve given it a 1 star as it is a grow light and the bulbs seem to be quite good. However, it doesn’t feel like a complete product, and I wouldn’t be happy with it if it was a DIY solution I came up with myself. I bought these lights as an upgrade to the homemade system I had which involved some floor standing lamps fitted with LED bulbs. While the light levels from these are very good and I’m happy with the bulbs, the usability of the overall product is very poor as it doesn’t fit securely, doesn’t allow flexibility in positioning and doesn’t provide easy access to my plants. I’m disappointed I spent almost €130 expecting a product for my specific propogator but instead it is closer to generic bulbs and (too short) cabling where I will have to find a solution to mount the lights in a way that makes it a practical product. The lights are held on by suction cup, so really they just sit balanced on the lid of the propogator as suction cups never stay on very long. The brackets for the cups don’t fit snugly onto the lights so they slide around if you touch them. The wire which joins the lights in series is also quite short which means the spacing of the lights can’t be adjusted, they have to sit in a fixed position and doesn’t give any flexibility in terms of positioning the lights. If you want to access the plants inside the propogator you need to remove the lights first, either by disconnecting the cables and taking each light off or trying to hold two long lights in your hands at the same time. After that you need to sit the lights somewhere like on the ground and only then can you lift the lid off the propogator to access the plants - not ideal when you are raising young plants that need food and water regularly.
