Description
Our Container Growing Mix mix is a soil/compost mix formulated for use in container growing. The mix contains 50% finely screened topsoil with a further 40% of peat reduced compost and sand to hold moisture and assist with drainage. Our container growing mix also contains 4kg of seaweed and poultry manure pellets to provide a slow release nutrient base for a broad range of vegetable crops.
Container growing soil mix ingredients:
5% Seafeed Fertilizer
Seafeed is our own brand pelleted slow release plant feed. Seafeed is a mix of organic free range poultry manure which is composted with seaweed meal to provide a natural feed that will supply nutrients for up to 90 days. The addition of the seaweed meal helps to boost plant immune systems and improves soil quality.
15% Horticultural Sand
We add 10% coarse grit horticultural sand to our soil mix to help drainage and improve consistency.
50% Peat Reduced Compost
We use 55% peat reduced compost to improve soil consistency and to hold on to moisture which is particularly important in container growing.
30% Screened Topsoil
The heart of our soil mix is our screened high grade topsoil, we only use the best soils with low clay content. Our soil has also been screened to remove any large or medium sized stones.
