New Quickcrop Hoop bed inc. tubing.

In a nutshell....

Our new hoop bed uses our 7inch high premier timber raised beds and our unique joiner and hoop brackets for making a mini tunnel for crop protection. Kit includes raised bed, brackets and tubing.

Bed Size

Our new hoop bed is a new raised bed system that features sturdy injection moulded corner pieces to join the boards instead of our traditional wooden corner posts. The beauty of this design is the corner brackets are also designed to fit standard 25mm piping which can be easily slotted in to create the hoop bed above. The hoops can be covered with your choice of protection which can be fixed permanently or simply weighed down with stones or bricks. The hoops can be easily moved from bed to bed as you rotate your crops around the garden which gives you an incredibly versatile pest control system.

Our new hoop bed is available in a range of 7inch high raised bed sizes but can also be purchased separately if you want to make up your own beds. We also supply piping cut to the size you require which easily slots on and out of the brackets.

I ordered two of the 6’x4’ kits in May for my partner’s birthday present. We have only just got around to attempting to construct this and what was in the package is nothing like the picture shown. There are 4 longer lengths of something like 2”x2” timber and 4 shorter lengths of the same plus the piping and some fixings. Certainly won’t make a 7” deep bed. No instructions. Feel quite ripped off. There were problems with the delivery. The package seemed to get stuck according to the tracking. I contacted DPD Ireland who said that they had handed it over to DPD UK and I would have to contact them myself - no interest in helping me. DPD UK said that they couldn’t locate the package. Eventually it turned up but now appears that it is not what I ordered. I don’t understand how something so simple could be got so wrong. It’s not rocket science.

If I want to buy a quickcrop hoop bed, 4 x 4 size (is that 4 foot by 4 foot or metres or what unit?), I see the polythene is 6 x 3 size - do you have a 4 x 4 size polythene roll or what would be suitable if I wanted a polythene cover?
Answered by Andrew

Hi Jennifer. The hoop bed you are looking at is 4ft x 4ft (120cm). The polythene is cut to fit a 6x4 bed so will fit with some to spare, unfortunately we don't have 4x4 sheets available. If you are looking to make a poly covered bed I think I would recommend the mini tunnel product instead as it is much easier to fix the plastic to the frame. The hoop bed is much more suitable for mesh or netting. I inlclude a link: https://www.quickcrop.ie/mini-polytunnels

How much compost please, would it take to fill one of your a) 4' x 4' bed? b) 6' x 4' bed? c) are your prices for an easily-installed, on top of grass bed?totally ready to grow in, once compost filled in

Hi Jo. The 6x4 bed takes 400 litres to fill while the 4x4 will need 265 litres of soil. The raised beds are very easy to put together and will be ready to grow in once filled with soil or compost. I hope this helps.
